When launching the new Chicken Big Mac we discovered that most of Gen Z has never even had the original Big Mac before. So how did we get them interested in a sandwich they’ve never had before? We duped it.
The McDonnell’s
We collaborated with Chain to open an undercover dupe restaurant called McDonnell’s. The restaurant was filled with iconic colors and menu items that tasted strangely familiar. To make it even more exciting, fans thought they were trying “The Chicken Sandwich” – a dupe of the classic Big Mac – when it was actually McDonald’s newest menu item.
The Event
200 + VIP night attendees consisting of media + influencers, a GA day with 450 + attendees that sold out in less than 3 hours and over 100 social engagements in a span of 48 hours.

The Reveal
The morning of October 3rd 2024, we announced the Chicken Big Mac and pulled the rug to reveal McDonald’s was behind the McDonnell’s dupe and the coverage has already started to roll in with outlets like USA TODAY, TODAY, The Daily Meal, Mashed and so many more!
